SAFETY
Veterans and Seniors
As a veteran who has worked for veterans service orgs, I know the importance of ensuring access to health care and PTSD support. I’ll secure funds to stop senior property tax increases and provide quality affordable long-term and in-home care.
Small Business and Transportation
I’ll work to secure grants and no interest loans for small businesses to recover from the pandemic. To create jobs and improve quality of life, I will advocate for road repairs, West-East rail service, and expanded PVTA routes in Chicopee.
Housing and the Environment
We are facing a statewide housing crisis. I’ll fight for more affordable homeownership and rental assistance programs. We need to improve Chicopee’s air quality to combat asthma rates, and protect our open spaces so our kids have a place to play.
Education and Young People
As a mom, I know the importance of social-emotional health, youth jobs, and a curriculum that centers civics, the arts, phys ed, STEM and financial literacy for our kids. I’ll work to upgrade school buildings and ensure they are safe and healthy.
Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods
We can prevent violence and keep people safe through fighting poverty, stopping the flow of dangerous opioids, and improving police-community relations. I’ll advocate for patient needs over hospital CEO bonuses, and fight to ensure a lasting COVID recovery.
Women and Girls
When women succeed, Chicopee succeeds. We need to address the crisis of violence against women, protect reproductive and maternal care, and expand vocational training and technical education to create good-paying jobs for mothers, women and girls.
The fair share amendment
I’m a strong proponent of the Fair Share Amendment, which will tax the richest 1% of Massachusetts who have routinely benefited from tax breaks. I’ll advocate for Chicopee to get its “fair share” of this revenue to close the achievement gap in our public schools, expand universal Pre-K, and improve PVTA service.
